How should I get into the Western North Carolina area?

If traveling from far, we recommend flying into a nearby airport. The closest options are Asheville, NC (AVL), Greenville, SC (GSP), and Charlotte, NC (CLT). After then, you will need to take a car to your place of lodging. The venue property is ~20 minutes away from the Asheville airport by car. Trains are a fun way to see the country, but there are sadly no nearby Amtrak or other commercial train stations. The closest one is Charlotte, NC, a two hour drive away. Keep in mind that trains are not very time efficient, and can often cost as much or more than a plane ticket.

What if I can only come for some of the time?

That is totally fine! The actual wedding ceremony will be on Saturday, July 18, and for that we would definitely love for you to be there! The rest of the time we will be relaxing together, playing games, and some of us will be doing a little decorating ;)

I want to explore Asheville, when can I do that?

If you are coming in to town early you can take time to explore the surrounding area on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning before the events begin! There is lots to do and see and, sometime soon, I will post highlights to visit here on the website!

Where can I stay overnight?

Depends on how long you are staying for, and what setting is comfortable for you. Short: Staying for one, maybe two nights? We recommend getting a hotel room close by. We will get a list together and block some rooms by March. Staying for three nights? Think about staying near us around the Laurel Falls venue! Check out VRBO and AirBnB's close by to provide convenience and respite from activities. Long: At Laurel Falls, our venue, there are four AirBnB-style homes that Molly, Sanchit and a few others will be staying at for the long weekend. While we do not have capacity for more people to lodge directly on-site with us, we would love for people to be close and pop in, especially in the evening when we can (weather permitting) enjoy a bonfire and s'mores. VRBO's, AirBnB's, and hotels no more than 20 minutes away can be booked, and we will help direct you towards some good ones. Please check out the "TRAVEL" section on this site!

Should I rent a car?

This is up to you! If you have things to do and places to see then I think you should have your own set of wheels. If you are only going between the venue and your lodging or the airport, car shares like Lyft and Uber are widely available and typically not too expensive. On your Partiful digital invitation you can see who has RSVP'd as "going". If you know other travelers I recommend getting a rental car together and exploring the area with friends! And you can always make friends here, too :)

What is special about Asheville and the western part of North Carolina?

Molly grew up in the Asheville area, so these mountains are home for her! Asheville is also known as "Ashevegas" to the locals, because the town feels exciting with "anything goes" vibrancy. Western North Carolina, (WNC,) includes Asheville and refers to the mountainous region in the state of North Carolina. The mountains that you will see in WNC are part of the Appalachian Mountain Range! The peaks can be enjoyed from Laurel Falls directly, by way of hiking trails, or through a leisurely drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Don't sleep on these old mountains... they're a little bit of magic and whimsy with a whole lot of beauty. There are also many waterfalls to see if you seek them out ;) * Pro-tip: keep your phone charged and download maps ahead of time if you plan to get out into the wilderness. It is worth the effort and planning. WNC people generally appreciate one-of-a-kind things, independent ideas, and environmental conservation. The food and restaurant scene here is great, and not just for a mountain town. There is a fair amount of farm-to-table restaurants to feel good eating at, many craft breweries to try (if you're into beer), delicious bakeries to relish, soo many art galleries to explore, and live music to groove to! Summer in WNC is bliss, period.

Why do you have a disco ball on this website?

Because we're gonna dance in a disco barn!
